Why Should You Only Do A Cardio Workout 3 Times A Week?

Posted by NoChubbyHubby on August 2, 2009

All instructors, videos, etc. command that you only do a cardio workout 3 times a week. Why? What if I wanted to do it everyday?

You can do cardio everyday if your not over doing it….It’s pretty much based on what kind of shape you are already in…I would start small until your body is conditioned for frequent cardio workouts….say your body is having joint pain or pain (other than a little soreness) that feels like an oncoming injury then you should cool it a bit..Just listen to your body, it will let you know if your pushing it too hard.

3 times a week is good if you want to incorporate weights into your workout. If you are only doing cardio and have the time/energy, you can exercise 5 or 6 times a week. You need at least a day off so your muscles can heal.

The muscles, and the heart is a major muscle, needs to to relax and adjust, hence every other day or three times a week regime. On the opposite days if you desire to exercise, add in weights. Cardio concentrates on the cardiovascular system and if you truly want to development a good exercise regime, you need to balance the areas of the body!

I think that if you do it 3 time per week, that is what it takes to keep things in proper working order. Doing it more often, to me anyway, would seem to be ok. You might check this out on exercise programs and also ask your doctor or a trainer.

your heart is a muscle, kinda like your biceps. it needs exercise to keep it in good shape, it last for a lifetime. you can do it everyday if you want to, but overworked organs does not mean fitness. 3 times a week is a minimum to remain where you at. 5 times a week if you want to improve your fitness level.

Doing it everyday is silly (not to mention NOT good for your body). Your body needs time to recover.
Do whatever you like but remember, you need off days so your body can relax.
