Weight training for women – how much weight to start with and how much is safe?

Posted by NoChubbyHubby on April 14, 2010

I’ve just started weight training exercises and I was just wondering what is the average weight a woman can bench press and curl when she first starts, and how much weight is safe for a woman to build up to?
and I have always heard that woman can lift weights and not look like the women in body building magazines. Am I wrong? That’s not the look I’m after.
I don’t want to look like a man for God’s sake

Safe Dieting

If the drug has been out of your system for 24 hours or longer and you aren’t experiencing side effects–heart palpitations, dizziness, trouble sleeping, or muscle spasms–then you’re probably in the clear. To avoid future complications, run any diet aid by a doctor first. While drugs require FDA approval, supplements are largely unregulated, and some can interact poorly with other medications.

Ct Angiography Training: Is The Test Safe For Me As A Patient?

Posted by NoChubbyHubby on September 27, 2009

One of the biggest questions patients often have when they have any type of test done or surgery performed at a doctor’s office is if the test is safe. This is a good question and a valid fear because it is something that you have never gone through before and chances are you probably do not know anyone that has gone through this the situation before either. If you are in the hands of a professional and skilled practitioner, the chances of any test you are having done being safe will be greatly improved. If your doctor has detected a potential problem with your cardiovascular system, they may order that you have a CT Angio test completed. You first thoughts when hearing that you will be having this test done were probably, what does that mean, will it be safe and who will be giving me this test. The test will be performed by a specialist that has undergone CT Angiography Training. If you have any questions on what this training involves and if the person giving you the test really went through the training, do not be afraid to ask. It is likely that they have had the questions before and will be more than willing to answer any other questions you have because they will want you to be as comfortable as possible with the whole process. When you are first told that you have to undergo a CT Angio test by an individual that has completed CT Angiography Training, you will probably not have any idea what that means or what the test will include. Your doctor should be more than willing to answer any questions that you have and will likely tell you all about what the test will include before you even have to ask any questions. You might also want to ask for some reading materials on the test to take home and read over if your doctor has not already given you some. Basically, the more that you know about the procedure, the more comfortable and calm you will be when the time rolls around for you to have the test done. There are many benefits to having the CT Angio test done by an individual that has completed CT Angiography Training. Overall, the test is very safe and non invasive, which means that you will be able to get back your every day routine in no time. Another benefit to having this test done is that depending on what is found, it might actually help you avoid having to go in for surgery. If you still need to have surgery however, having this test done can help ensure that your surgery will be successful. You might feel a great deal of stress after you are told that you need to undergo a CT Angio test. However, this test will be administered by a trained professional that will do everything they can to make sure that you are as comfortable as possible through the process and will also do what they can to calm any fears that you may have.
