My Husband Is Going To Be Starting The Adkins Diet….?

has anyone used this method before, if so how did it work for you. He is going to be doing this diet and I am going to be having gastric bypass surgery. Any one who had either of these please let me know how it has helped or hurt you. I need information from real people along with my doctors advice.

Amazingw said,
I tried the Atkins diet several years ago.
I stuck to it for about 5 days and lost 9lbs *but* after about 3 days I noticed when eating I could no longer taste the actual food, all I could taste was grease. I wasn’t hungry which I thought was amazing but I found I was so bunged up that my whole bathroom routine went totally kapuut.
I gave up the diet as I knew it was bad for me – the body needs to eliminate it’s waste and not have it sitting around for days so I avoided the whole Ketosis thing but I know other people who stuck to the diet and had breath so absolutely foul that even standing 6ft away from them you could smell it and it would make you gag.
The best diet is the Low GL plan – all food has a Glycemic Load, the lower this load, the better it is for you. Low GL food releases its energy slower so no sugar/energy rush and it keeps you fuller for longer. You can pick up small books on the Low GL Plan – as these foods are wholesome, natural foods they are miles better for your husband than the Atkins.
Sorry I cannot advise on the gastric part of your question though but all the very best for the both of you.
