How Often Should I Change My Running Sneakers?
Posted by NoChubbyHubby on July 5, 2009
I run from late January all the way through mid November. I run about 35-45 miles a week 6 days a week depending on what my coach wants me to run. I never run in the rain or snow only when it is sunny. How often should I change my sneakers? Is once a year good, or what because my dad does not want to keep buying my new running sneakers that often. Also, I have another pair of sneakers not for running so I just use my running shoes while running.

Just over the summer i went to this running camp and they said to change your shoes every 400-500 miles. I usually change mine every 2-3 seasons. ( i know i should be changing it often)
i run all year around. XC, indoor and outdoor

The general rule is every 500 miles, which is the average life of a running shoe. Based on your mileage of 35 miles a week that is about 14 and a half weeks of running or close to 5 months.
