Does Anyone Know What Is An Ideal Cardio Workout For Losing Weight?
Posted by NoChubbyHubby on July 3, 2009
I’ve heard several different opinions about cardio workouts. I’m basically just trying to lose a few pounds around my gut and love handle area and wasn’t sure if it is better to do a short, intense cardio workout or a long, less intense workout. Anyone know?

Try a combination of both of your ideas – interval training. This is the fastest way to lose weight. Set a goal to do cardio for 45 minutes a day. It should have intervals (30 second to 1 minute) where you go as fast as you can. Then go back to a steady pace. This really works!

Just divide the minutes you use between three different machines . For e.g i once told a girl on here , i workout and i do somedays about 5-10 minutes on a bike , 30-35 minutes on a elipticol and about 20-25 min on a treadmill , there you have it , you can try it , take it or leave it …. but i would say do either , because both doesnt matter should be intense in order for you to loose weight but just dont over do it .
I think you should raise the level aka resistance to about 5 to start off if you can handle it and as high as 12 if you can handle it again but if you another opiton is to just lower and raise it so you are tiring yourself out to quickly . For e.g 5 min level 5 , 5min level 7-8 something like that . U can also try go really fast and then slowing it down , like 5min fast , 5min slow , you can do that too .
Any of this doesnt matter , it could be any cardio machine overall i’d say u should spent about an hour to an hr and a half on this …
Good Luck , just do a reasonable, tolerable workout for yourself that you can maintain and wont get tired easily

Interval training will burn some serious fat and get rid of those extra lbs fast! I would suggest, jogging at a comfortable pace for 5-10 minutes for warm-up. Then increase your pace so that you are running and you should be straining yourself to keep-up, do it for 2 minutes (increase the time once you are good at it or increase the pace). Then return to the comfortable jog for 1 minute to catch your breath.
Continue to go back and forth for 20-30 minutes.
Actually any exercise were you increase the pace to an uncomfortable amount for some time and then reduce for a moment rest will burn the lbs.

I really like eliptical machines because you can distribute your effort between your legs and arms. I’ve burned an average of 800 calories in an hour and I weigh 145 Ibs. (putting it on level 10)
However my doctor said swimming laps is the best cardio you can do. He said the pounds “just fall off”. It’s great if you don’t mind working out without music!

try jogging whether on a treadmill or just around the park. the key thing is to do it for an extended period of time where your breathing will be heavy and you heart rate will increase a lot. do if you can for at least 35 minutes and you will lose depending on your diet. do it at least 3 times a week if not more.
