“They’re gonna blast us with their jet blast” – nice technical jargon.

@grizzlybear7779 would you chill??? if the plane is too heavy they drop baggage or…they have baggage go on allternative flight…

@BIGgymnast10 : And how does paying extra help with safety ???!!! Money isn’t everything you know , decency is !

I thought the same thing.

the pilot didn’t eat her Wheaties that day.

I don’t understand why the pilots don’t have a Texas Instruments 83 Plus Graphing Calculator on their side for math calculations; to avoid math errors that caused their death.

I hope the producers now know that they were going to Greer, SOUTH CAROLINA, not North Carolina.

WTF? Only that flights have the least chances of survival. It can go down to up to zero percent. ??? Try english.
marick626 said,
he was doing it by the book. Obviously it was an error but he had no way of knowing that. It wasn’t the pilot’s fault but the industries as a whole.

The safest way of travel is through FLIGHT, not cars. A plane cannot fly if it is not 100% safe. Only that flights have the least chances of survival. It can go down to up to zero percent. And mind you, more fatalities are brought by terrain transport than air transport. So i better go travel by plane.
LIVBen81 said,
the calculation was actually wrong.. he calculated it was 17018kg, the limit of the plane is 17120kg.. da actual calculation was 17258kg.. what a fatal error!

So we are cool, i think not…lol…daft pilots

I dont agree with safer. The chances to survive a car crash are much much more than surviving a plane crash, and in the case of the car you are in control not someone else who you dont even know.

Look again the weight didnt have any thing to do with it
grizzlybear7779 said,
I hate it when stupid people bring heavy ass bags on flight !!! They create so much trouble for the non-stupid people who remain within weight limit !!!
MCFazZe said,
i’d rather drive than fly..atleast with cars u can jump outa the car if u lose control nd live..cant jump outa a plane in mid air

This was a problem with the misrigging of the elevators.
The weight of the passengers and baggage was not a factor.
An RJ’s wake turbulence is of no consequence to a BE1900.
babylonbabybukser said,
yeah correct
marick626 said,
Anyone notice that the plane used from 4:13 to about 4:30 is a King air instead of a B1900?
marick626 said,
The trip is 30 minutes because its in an airplane. If it where in a car it would take much longer. I understand what you are saying but traveling by airplane is not only safer than being in a car but also cheaper and of course faster. The people in this flight where just out of luck.

Don’t see how and why the pilot is to be blamed. He did not miscalculate. He used 175 lbs per passenger for weight and balance check. That was the number that the entire industry used for weight and balance calculations. After this incident it has been revised to 200 lbs per passenger. He was just doing what he was told to. …..
